BioPoly Trains European Surgeons with its Partial Resurfacing Knee Implant System
FORT WAYNE, IN – Twenty-four (24) surgeons from the UK, France, Germany, and Austria recently completed training for the CE-marked BioPoly RS Partial Resurfacing Knee Implant surgical technique. This training was accomplished in Bristol, UK, and Salzburg, Austria. Both training sessions included presentations from experienced BioPoly surgeons and hands-on training in cadaver lab settings.
The BioPoly RS Partial Resurfacing Knee Implant replaces painful femoral condyle cartilage lesions so that patients can quickly resume pain-free, active lifestyles. Since the implant is made from the proprietary BioPoly material, it provides a biocompatible bearing surface that allows patients to immediately weight-bear post-surgery.
The patented BioPoly material is a combination of hyaluronic acid (“Bio”) and ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (“Poly”). BioPoly implants support anatomical loads while gliding against normal joint surfaces without causing damage. The surgery includes minimally invasive techniques that are tissue-sparing; thus, allowing rapid post-operative recovery.
